Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik yang menggunakan guided inquiry berbasis science-edutainment berbantuan magic box dengan peserta didik yang menggunakan guided inquiry, mengetahui efektivitas dan respon peserta didik terhadap guided inquiry berbasis science-edutainment berbantuan magic box. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan populasinya peserta didik kelas VII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Tegal. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan purposive sampling. Data diambil dengan teknik dokumentasi, tes dan wawancara dan dianalisis dengan uji N-Gain dan Independent Sample T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik yang menggunakan model pembelajaran guided inquiry berbasis science-edutainment berbantuan magic box dengan guided inquiry, tingkat efektivitas model pembelajaran guided inquiry berbasis science-edutainment berbantuan magic box masuk kategori cukup efektif, dan respon peserta didik terhadap guided inquiry berbasis science-edutainment berbantuan magic box dengan guided inquiry masuk dalam kategori baik.
